Infotility, Inc., a Software and Consulting Firm Names David Cohen New Chief Executive Officer
San Ramon, CA (PRWEB) May 3, 2004 – Infotility Inc., a software company developing innovative, real-time software for energy applications, today announced that David Cohen has been named as president and chief executive officer (CEO). Cohen, a co-founder, was previously the chief technical officer (CTO) for Infotility. Cohen, who brings to Infotility more than 18 years of experience building energy technology and software businesses, joins a team of company co-founders and a core software engineering and consulting group.
Initially, Cohen will focus on further developing the company’s research and development efforts based on intelligent agent software for management of distributed energy and demand response applications, as Infotility moves from product development to introduction and launch of its flagship products. Infotility’s current R&D involves using distributed energy resources in order to increase efficiency and electrical grid reliability.
Before joining Infotility in 2002, Cohen was the director of business development of Silicon Energy, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise energy management software. As an early-stage team member, Cohen helped grow the business development, product development, and marketing of the business, and helped the company raise 3 rounds of venture funding, totaling $42 million, which contributed to the sale of the company to Itron in 2002. While at Silicon Energy, he was the creator and developer of the industry’s leading enterprise software for managing the communications, networking, and control of distributed energy devices in use by several large U.S. Utilities.
Before Silicon Energy, Cohen was a senior consultant at ICF Consulting. While at ICF, Cohen managed the business development and marketing of several web-based energy information products within the Energy Solutions and Information Technology practices of ICF. During the previous 12 years of his career, Cohen held a variety of energy engineering and management positions leading to the creation of several commercial software products. Cohen is an expert on artificial intelligence applications in the energy industry, and is an internationally known for his experience in distributed energy communications and control.
